The ICCBR-15 Workshop on Experience and Creativity was held as part of the 23rd International Conference on Case-Based Reasoning in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, September 2015 with the cooperation of PROSECCO, the European Network for Promoting the Scientific Exploration of Computational Creativity.
The goal of the workshop was to address common areas of interest in Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) and Computational Creativity (CC) by exploring and analyzing how the new and innovative (creativity) is related to, depends upon, and needs to break away from the old and know (experience). The workshop provided a forum for discussion of these new research directions, provoked by an invited talk by Geraint Wiggins on the relation between experience and creativity, the presentation of five long papers and four position papers, and a final panel discussion by Amílcar Cardoso, Pablo Gervás, Ramón López de Mantaras, and Geraint Wiggins.
The workshop was a success, with an average attendance of 30-40 people, and interesting discussions involving people from different research fields.
