January 14th, 2014
Hugo Oliveira (University of Coimbra) visited Pablo Gervás and Raquel Hervás at Universidad Complutense in January 2014 to make joint research on automatic generation of poetry. They worked on the adaptation of PoeTryMe, a generic poetry generation system, to Spanish -- so far, PoeTryMe had only been used to generate poetry in Portuguese. The main tasks involved the selection and adaptation of Spanish lexical resources -- including a morphological lexicon, a wordnet, and a syllable operations tool -- experimentation of the new system and some discussion on its evaluation.
Following the work done during the visit, a paper is being prepared to be submitted to ICCC 2014.
